Abstract:
Ayat al-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:255) stands as one of the most profound verses of the Quran, emphasizing divine omniscience, cosmological dominion, and absolute authority. This paper presents a word-by-word linguistic breakdown of the verse, coupled with scientific commentary in the light of cosmology, quantum physics, and neuroscience. Further, we integrate the Al-Asr Dynamic Number System (ADNS), particularly the concept of pico-scale events and the momentary blink of an eye, to explore how divine knowledge transcends dimensions of time and matter.

Introduction:
A verse that summarises, in powerful and succinct Words, the basic principles of the Islamic faith, citing those attributes of Allah that most aptly assert the meaning and significance of the basic Islamic principle of tawĥīd: the oneness of Allah.

Every one of these attributes reflects a fundamental aspect of the universal Islamic view of the world. Let’s deeply analyze Quran 2:255, known as Ayat al-Kursi (The Verse of the Throne)—considered one of the most powerful verses in the Quran. This explanation will cover:

1. Arabic Text (Quran 2:255)

2. Transliteration

Allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa al-ḥayyu al-qayyūmu,
lā ta’khuzuhu sinatun wa lā nawmun,
lahu mā fī al-samāwāti wa mā fī al-arzi,
man zā allazī yashfaʿu ʿindahu illā bi-iznihi,
wa lā yuḥīṭūna bi-shay’in min ʿilmihi illā bimā shā’a,
wasiʿa kursīyuhu al-samāwāti wa al-arḍa,
wa lā ya’ūduhu ḥifẓuhumā,
wa huwa al-ʿaliyyu al-ʿaẓīmu.

3. English Translation

Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining.
Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.
To Him belongs whatever is in the skies and whatever is on the earth.
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?
He knows what is before them and what is behind them,
and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills.
His Throne extends over the skies and the earth,
and their preservation tires Him not.
And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

5. Scientific Concepts in Ayat al-Kursi

5.1 Allah as the Sustainer of the Universe (الْقَيُّومُ)

  • Scientific View: The Self-Sustaining force implies an unbroken system of universal laws, where quantum fields, gravitational fields, and energy conservation are maintained without exhaustion. The concept of an eternal, non-decaying system aligns with this description.
  • Physics Parallel: In quantum field theory, the vacuum is never truly empty—there is always fluctuation, yet governed perfectly. Who sustains this perfection without decay? Quran answers: Allah.

5.2 Time and Consciousness: No Drowsiness or Sleep

  • Explanation: Sleep is required to reset biological systems. Drowsiness and sleep indicate limits in consciousness and energy.
  • Scientific Note: The Quranic description negates these limitations—indicating an entity beyond time, entropy, or rest cycles.
  • Neuroscience Link: Sleep correlates with memory consolidation and metabolic regulation. Allah, being outside the system, needs no biological reset—He is timeless and unchanging.

5.3 Ownership of All Creation

  • The verse declares complete sovereignty over the cosmos.
  • Astronomy Context: Our observable universe contains 2 trillion galaxies, yet Quran attributes ownership of all celestial bodies (samaawāt) and earthly forms (arz).

5.4 Knowledge Beyond Time (يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ)

  • Interpretation: Allah knows all past, present, and future events.
  • Quantum Mechanics Parallel: Events may not be deterministic. Yet Allah’s knowledge encompasses wave function possibilities, collapsed states, and all outcomes.
  • Cosmic Time Link: This verse relates to block universe theory where all time exists simultaneously—past, present, and future.

5.5 The Throne (Kursī) Extending Over the Skies and Earth

  • Symbolism: "Kursī" can symbolize divine command, knowledge, and law governing the universe.
  • Scientific View: This could correspond to universal constants—laws that extend throughout the universe such as:
    • Speed of light (c)
    • Gravitational constant (G)
    • Planck's constant (h)

These universal "laws" or parameters might be considered Allah’s Kursī governing all scales.

6. Integration with Al-Asr Dynamic Number System (ADNS)

🔹 Zero as Transition — "lā ta’khuzuhu sinatun wa lā nawmun"

  • In ADNS, zero is a transitional moment between action and inaction.
  • This verse describes a state of permanent activity (qayyūm)—never passing through zero transformation, i.e., no sleep or drowsiness → continuous function.
  • Implication: Allah’s time is beyond the ADNS zero point—He is not bound by any phase shift or polarity reversal.

🔹 Kursī and Event Field: Universal Frame of Reference

  • In ADNS, each event exists with start and end durations—micro to macro.
  • “Kursī” extending over all implies a reference frame that contains all event-based scales, including:
    • Pico events (e.g., subatomic decay, blinking of an eye)
    • Cosmic events (e.g., galactic collisions)

Thus, “Kursī” in ADNS becomes the dimensionless governing field—the framework embedding all numerical changes, all start-to-end transitions.

🔹 No Exhaustion (وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا)

  • In ADNS, energy flows with direction: gain/loss, transformation, or decay.
  • This verse describes no energy loss in the preservation of cosmos → a perfect conservation, where the event flow is infinite and flawless.
  • ADNS cannot define such perfection within number polarity—so this verse suggests a divine scale beyond human measurement.

✅ Conclusion

Quran 2:255 is a deep ocean of metaphysical, cosmological, and scientific concepts.
It connects:

  • Cosmic ownership with the laws of physics
  • Non-biological consciousness with the origin of time
  • Divine knowledge with quantum uncertainty
  • And within ADNS framework: Allah’s system lies beyond all defined events, beyond directional numbers, and encompasses the Kursī—a governing frame not subject to time or polarity.
